Of all the creatures than come and go on my property, none is more reliably visible than the resident toad of that year. Taking up shelter under my front porch or in my garden, it is a faithful warm night welcome as it crosses the path to my front door. As I am often out at night (flashlight in hand ) searching for fleeting glimpses of interesting bugs and herps, I can always be assured that the omnipresent toad will not disappoint!
