I see many of these little gems in the fields around my home. Asters are the host plant of the Pearl Crescent butterfly, and this one is resting on a goldenrod leaf, also a predominant wildflower here. I loved the juxtaposition of this soft delicate butterfly on the toothy edge of the leaf and thought it made for a nice composition.
